I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing – John 15:5

There are many ways to explore and grow your faith at SRVUMC.  We believe the greatest transformations occur through small group membership and by attending faith formation classes. Browse our calendar, click on the Find a Group link at the top of this site, or visit the Latest News tab for the more information about upcoming classes or groups.

Small Groups enable deeper spiritual growth & commitment, and we find, this is where the deep, life transformation occurs. SRVUMC offers all types of small group experiences. Book study groups, social and recreational groups, and groups dedicated to exploring and growing your faith. During special liturgical seasons - like Lent and Advent - we offer special all-church small group opportunities. We also break away and be in retreat on several occasions during the year.

Adult Sunday school class are Sundays at 10:30 in the Fireside Room. So far we have covered the diversity of early Christian movements, including the Gnostics. These groups eventually died out and their texts did not make it into the canon, such as the Gospel of Peter or The Secret Gospel of Mark. The series will cover the history of the Orthodox Christian movement, which includes the formation of the New Testament canon, the Orthodox corruption of the scripture and the early Christian creeds. At the end of each video we typically have a lively discussion. All are welcome. No reading is necessary although I do send out an outline of each video prior to the class. Facilitated by Dave Coombs. Drop-In Disciple Bill Rust will lead informal, relatively unstructured drop-in summer session discussion on faith or biblical topics at 10:30 on Sundays, Room 202. Former participants of Drop-In Disciple will appreciate the opportunity to delve deeper into selected biblical themes of interest which they had to cut short to stay on the Disciple schedule. Others may want to explore faith beyond Bible study themes. The discussion will take its own course, with guidance
