Another Spiritual Practice

Another Spiritual Practice

This week we add another spiritual practice to our Lenten Journey: giving.
Giving is an essential spiritual practice. In fact, Jesus talked more about giving of our money and our possessions than he spoke of worship, prayer, and Scripture study, combined.
I invite you to practice the joy of giving by participating in our In Gratitude and Celebration ministry. Think of someone you want to thank and appreciate. Make a donation to SRVUMC form. You’ll have an option to add the name(s) of people you are appreciating and celebrating. Your donation will go to the General Fund, and we will send a card to the people you are celebrating saying a donation has been made in appreciation of them. (The amount of the donation will not be shared. If you prefer, you can make your donation anonymous). Enjoy making a donation of any size and experience the joy of giving. Your gift will celebrate those who have made a difference in your life (a neighbor, colleague, church friend, teacher, family member or staff member). Your gift of appreciation can celebrate someone’s birthday, graduation, anniversary or other event. It doesn’t matter where they live; we will send them a card. Your gift will also benefit the church. Why wait to say “I’m grateful for you”? Let’s practice giving in days and weeks ahead.
