Congregation Letter

Congregation Letter

Dear San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church Community:
We are eager to welcome you back on campus. This letter is to update you on
how we will go forward in safely re-opening. Over the past year we have realized
how much we cherish and need community. You have been missed!
Worship
On Sunday June 6 and Sunday June 13, we will have in-person and online worship
at 9am. We will continue to register for worship, wear masks and socially
distance. After worship, we invite you to gather in courtyard and greet one
another.
Our Sunday School for elementary age students will also meet outside, in person,
at 9am; Zoom Sunday School will be at 10:15.
Starting Sunday June 20, as most California state restrictions are lifted
• We will no longer need to register for in-person worship at 9am.
• We will still have a sign-in sheet in case contact tracing is needed.
• We will continue to wear masks, so that families with children will feel
welcome and safe. Children are required to keep wearing masks until they
can safely be vaccinated.
We will continue to offer a live-streamed worship service at 9am, and then post
that on our SRVUMC Facebook page, YouTube page and webpage (www.
srvumc.org)
In July, we will consider how we can safely offer a fellowship time with all the
trimmings—coffee and juice and bagels.
Small Groups/Classes/Committee Meetings on Campus
All groups are invited to sign up with Marilyn Clarke (mclarke@srvumc.org) to use
the outside courtyard for gatherings. We have extra chairs there for you to use.
After June 15, please reserve inside rooms for your gatherings with Marilyn Clarke
if you wish to move indoors.
We encourage everyone to be vaccinated before coming on campus.Church Office
Our church office will be opening after June 15 from 10-3pm. The office will be
closed on Wednesdays.
As a church, our experiences with the pandemic and sheltering in place have
varied, and our own tolerance for risk is as individual as each of us. Yet, we must
navigate what could be the end of a difficult and historic period together to
ensure that the fragile or fearful among us don’t feel excluded from our church
family. For a time, smile with your eyes and leave your masks in place when you
greet one another in person. We will celebrate being together with continued
vigilance to “do no harm.”
Grace and peace and well-being
