Who: Students are 13 or older by July

What: A week of service working on their peach processing line, preparing the fruit to be sipped out to Gleaning’s partner ministries around the globe.

When: July 7-13

Why: God calls us to use our time and talents to be servants to others. This trip is a great opportunity to practice being in community with each other while learning about and partnering with an organization that allows us to serve not only our neighbors in California, but those around the world.

Cost: The trip will cost $185/student before fundraising. this covers the volunteer fee from Gleanings, a can rental, gas, and any unforeseen costs that might pop up.

There is still time to register! If you would like to come along, let Rebecca Bernstein know by sending an email to rbernstein@srvumc.org

Chaperones: We will need one (1) chaperone for every seven (7) students. Right now it looks like we’ll need at least two (2) more chaperones in addition to myself. If you or someone you know would like to be a part of this trip, please let me know!

A quick note:

  • There is a dusting of sulfur on the peaches we’ll be processing. It’s not a problem unless a student/chaperone has a sulfur allergy, in which case Gleanings suggests they take extra precautions to stay safe.
