Building Playhouses (Habitat for Humanity)

Building Playhouses for Habitat for Humanity Join us in the SRVUMC Parking Lot on Saturday, October 9th to build two playhouses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Pick one of two shifts (9-11:30am or 12-2:30pm) or stay for the whole day!We need builders, artists, and positive attitudes, all materials, and tools will be provided. We would love to see you there. World Communion Sunday

Pastor Daniel Kim and the Korean language church at SRVUMC are preparing for a mission trip to Mexico where they lead VBS and help with building maintenance. Let’s support them! On World Communion Sunday October 3rd, buy a Korean lunch after worship for $15. This fundraiser will make the mission trip happen, and we’ll get a yummy Korean meal (marinated beef, kimichi and Japanese style noodles/japache and some side dishes). Beverages also available for $1.  What a great way to celebrate World Communion…

Blessing of the Pets

Come out to the Equestrian Center of Walnut Creek on Sat. Oct 2nd to have your beloved pet blessed! Churches around the world celebrate this tradition of blessing animals started by St. Francis of Assisi about 800 years ago. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Interfaith Council of Contra Costa, iCARE, as it is called, has arranged for service days helping White Pony Express with their food services for families and individuals in need: organizing, distributing, loading vehicles, and clean up. Wildfire Bucket Assembly

Congratulations SRVUMC! Thanks to your generosity we will be donating 30 wildfire buckets and the relatedtools to the California-Nevada Conference wildfire response preparations. While we hope wildfires are less this year, we need to be ready. Each bucket contains the safety equipment and tools for a wildfire victim to access the remains of theirhome, most often to look for personal possessions that may have survived – family keepsakes or treasured heirlooms. Monument Crisis Center Mission Opportunity

The Monument Crisis Center(MCC) is a community-based non-profit family resource center for Central and East Contra Costa County, located in Concord. Although food distribution remains their primary objective (especially during COVID), they also have developed adult education, youth and senior programs to address the various needs of their clients. Such programs (during non-COVID19 times) have included after school tutoring, health screening & wellness classes, computer and language classes, etc.  Our church will be offering you an opportunity to volunteer at MCC on Monday, May…
