On December 21, the longest night of the year, we gather for a quiet service at 7pm in the Fireside Room.
Many of us approach the holidays with pain or grief, either new this year or renewed each year. Perhaps we feel removed from the festivities around us. Or, we might feel guilty when we take some pleasure in them and try to shrink away. The Longest Night Service is for everyone who has experienced grief, depression, or lingering pain of loss. This year, Stephen Ministers will guide this lay service for those who need time and a safe space to gently acknowledge our full range of emotions.
Throughout the year, Stephen Ministers meet one-on-one with assigned care receivers to talk in confidence and pray together weekly. Stephen Ministers are lay church members and we partner with other Stephen Ministry groups nearby.
If you want to talk about a hurt you are carrying with a caring individual, ask Pastor Sam or Al Banisch for more information about Stephen Ministry.
