What is Taize?
A “Parable of Community.” Taizé is an ecumenical form of prayer modeled after the Taizé community (an ecumenical Christian monastic community of brothers) founded in the 1940’s by Br. Roger in Taizé, France. The purpose of the prayer is to foster reconciliation and peace among all people.
When is Taize?
Do you find yourself yearning for a little quiet time with God? A few moments in community with others in meditative prayer? A few of your friends invite you to carry on the tradition and experience our Taize service from 7:00 PM on the Wednesdays of 12/5, 12/12, and 12/19 in the Sanctuary.
What should I expect?
Do you find yourself yearning for a little quiet time with God? A few moments in community with others in meditative prayer? Then it might be for you. Taizé features several short, easy-to-learn music based prayers that we sing over with live music provided by acoustic guitar. The service offers an environment that might help let one relax into a deeper spiritual relationship with God, through prayer repeated in song.
