AFTERNOON BOOK GROUP
Third Monday of the Month at 1PM (unless otherwise stated) in the church library.
Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall is the pick for September 16. Sherman is a donkey that needs a purpose. He inspires members of his community to help him. On the way, we discover that Sherman has his own personality.
Jane McGuire will lead the discussion.
October 21 we will be reading Oath and Honor by Liz Cheney. This timely book will be just before the November election.
November 18 will be An Unfinished Love Story by Doris Kearns Goodwin. The book is about the civil rights movement of the 1960’s and Goodwin’s relationship with her husband. He was an adviser and speechwriter to John F. Kennedy.
Linda Jimerson will lead the discussion.
December 16 we will discuss a slightly lighthearted book, How To Age Disgracefully. by Clare Pooley. A funny and heartwarming book for any age.
