Overview

We will be hosting Winter Nights, a shelter for people experiencing homelessness April 8-14. The number of guests can be anywhere from 10-25 people including children.

Volunteers Needed

We would love your help in 3 different areas:  Overnight hosts, childcare and meal prep/service.

Our biggest need is for overnight hosts!  (sleep overnight in a private room on a comfy airbed and serve as backup in case the onsite staff person needs you; in the morning, prepare coffee and set out breakfast supplies)

We also need meal providers– prepare, serve, and clean up a dinner or a weekend lunch or breakfast. (This is a great project for a small group of 3-5 people).

Lastly, we could use 3-4 volunteers to organize crafts and/or take kids to our playground, usually before dinner from 5-6:30pm or so. This requires the church Safe Gatherings training and a livescan for the safety of the kids.  The church will fund these, so you aren’t required to pay for them.

We would love to have you join us for any of these activities that works for you!

Please contact Kal Peters or Nancy Garnick if you would like to participate or have any questions.
